"죄란 무엇인가? 그것은 하나님의 영광이 존중받지 못하는 것이다. 하나님의 거룩함이 경외받지 못하는 것이다. 하나님의 위대함이 존경받지 못하는 것이다. 하나님의 능력이 찬양받지 못하는 것이다. 하나님의 진리가 추구되지 않는 것이다. 하나님의 지혜가 존중받지 못하는 것이다. 하나님의 아름다움이 소중히 여겨지지 않는 것이다. 하나님의 선함이 맛보지 못하는 것이다. 하나님의 신실함이 신뢰받지 못하는 것이다. 하나님의 계명이 순종되지 않는 것이다. 하나님의 공의가 존중받지 못하는 것이다. 하나님의 진노가 두려워하지 않는 것이다. 하나님의 은혜가 소중히 여겨지지 않는 것이다. 하나님의 존재가 소중히 여겨지지 않는 것이다. 하나님의 사람이 사랑받지 못하는 것이다. 그것이 죄이다."
